Now that we know how to get our coupons from the newspaper, let’s look into the digital world. Many manufacturer coupons can be printed off sites such as, coupons.com and redplum.com. Another lesser known tip is electronic coupons. These coupons are directly loaded to your store rewards card! You don’t have them to hold or clutter things up. Sites such as cellfire.com and shortcuts.com have these coupons. Here are the steps to use these: 1)Go to the website, 2) Register your rewards card (Fred Meyer and Smith’s use this service in our area), 3) Start clicking load or add. You can reload these every month, and they do expire just like the paper ones. When you go to the store to purchase items it doesn’t hurt to have your paper coupons even for the same item. Sometimes it will take both! Pay attention to the fine print. Many of the coupons require you to buy 2 or more. To redeem your eCoupon just scan your reward card at the register. Most cashiers don’t even blink an eye at the amount coming off their screen now, but in the beginning many of them thought they did something wrong. Also, the eCoupon sites will have a place that you can click that says something like “view my coupons”. If you click on this, it will show you all the ones you have loaded. You can then print it off and stick in the front of your binder in a sheet protector.
